EU SHD Coalition to Take Part in Leinster House Event on the EU Safe Hearts Plan

The EU Structural Heart Disease Coalition is delighted to take part in the upcoming event, “EU Safe Hearts Plan: Driving the Implementation of the EU Safe Hearts Plan through the Irish Presidency of the EU Council”, taking place in Leinster House on 17 June 2026.

We are particularly grateful to Senator Maria Byrne for hosting this event and for her continued support in improving outcomes for people living with structural heart disease.

The discussion will focus on the opportunity for Ireland to play a leading role in advancing the EU Safe Hearts Plan during its upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It will also explore how EU-level action can support earlier diagnosis, greater awareness, timely access to care, and more patient-centred cardiovascular pathways across Europe.

The event will bring together policymakers, clinicians, patient advocates, and key stakeholders for a timely exchange on how to strengthen structural heart disease care and ensure that patients receive the attention, diagnosis, and treatment they need.

The EU SHD Coalition looks forward to contributing to this important conversation and continuing its work to support the implementation of the EU Safe Hearts Plan across Europe.
